As always, thanks to everyone on this board. I would never be here without all of the support and info available. I've driven my "new" 79 308 1100 miles in my first two months of ownership. It's been an incredible ride... This is the first car that I've owned that I can personally work on, and that draws a crowd everywhere I go. Thanks to the members here, I have already: changed all of the fluids, put in a new fuel pump, replaced the fuel evaporation canister, switched out the fuel hoses and the radiator cap, re-jetted the carbs and removed all of the airbox restriction (thanks Russ), restored all of the leather, and performed a thorough exterior detail (thanks Mike C). The amount of info and support here is amazing. The largest regional indoor show in this area was this weekend, and 3 of 4 of the local Ferrari owners were present. Two firsts and a second--not bad considering that of approx 170 cars, Ferrari represented 3 of 6 TOTAL non-US cars!!! Here are a few more. As you can see my two favorite fans were in attendance!!! Spence Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I knew these cars were chick magnets! Looks great. Kind of bizarre to have a 308 and TR surrounded by pick-up trucks, but it sets them apart nicely.
Thanks guys. This was definitely a "muscle car" crowd with lots of hot rods also. I had several people walk up and ask "what kind of Corvette is that?" I also had multiple people ask why I put the engine in the trunk... shelbith's (another F-chatter) 360 did win overall best interior in the "People's Choice" voting
