A video just released by Nick Murray (a well known youtuber) claims that he drove a 2019 488 Spider, apparently, the first in the US. I was under the impression that the new model year production started after the factory summer break in August. Does anyone know when MY2019 488's start production?

I don’t know, maybe...I have one of my dealers early 19 orders, and I’m set to wait a few more months. I definitely know of 18s still being delivered as well.

My dealer said he just put in his last MY 2018 order in this week.
Next allocations he gets will be MY 2019.

@OP.........Not possible unless Ferrari has changed the model year start month, or they've started arbitrarily assigning model years. (I know someone with an expected U.S. delivery late next month and his is a 2018.) Frankly, I've always found it strange that I've never received one answer to the model year cutoff month, even among dealers. Some say the change occurs after the Summer break, most say the model year changes at the end of July (meaning cars produced beginning August 1st would be the new model year, but of course the break occurs in August, so that would support the "after the break" date.) But I've also heard the new model year begins July 1st, meaning the last month is June for current model year. Regardless of which is correct, I don't see how it's possible there is a 2019 in the U.S.. Given the usual testing, transport and delivery times to the U.S. the car would have to have been built in March, so I refer back to my first sentence.

Just another junk info from a YouTuber that thinks they know a lot about cars.

The most hilarious is Superspeeders Rob as he goes through his 488 Spider build. Half the options description he gets wrong.

I have a July build date for my GTB and it is, allegedly, a 2019.

Yes but you will probably not see that car until September. My 2018 488 Spider has a July 2017 build date and the dealer told me that they received it on Sep 28 2017.

Yes...I hope to take delivery in September. I was posting to support JimPVB’s post that July builds seem to be the next model year and the car in Nick Murray’s video is unlikely to be a 2019.

Yup, got that, and entirely possible (July build for Sep delivery of a 2019) given what I've been told in the past.
