Ok, so I am close to getting my license now. From January onwards, I will be living in Switzerland and taking advantage of it's beautifull roads. Now I am planning to get an Cagiva Mito125 for the couple of months of waiting for my bike to be build.
Now I am thinking of either getting an MV Augusta 750 1+1 or a Benelli Novecento Tre. Anybody have any INTELLIGENT opinion? (i.e. no Oh you are a poser to get as you first bike an exotic) How easy are they to ride?

Where I will live, the city speeds are low and there is no congestion (small town close to the Alps) so I won't have the possibility of reaching silly speeds even if I wanted to. Any personal experiences would be greatly appriciated.

The MV is a awesome bike. Very Pricey and exclusive, had the chance to ride one a few years back. I prefer a v-twin myself, but handles amazing especially for those swiss roads. I don't think I would recommend a MV especially for a beginner. But you've got to get with what you want otherwise you'll regret it. Just be careful its extremely capable!!

    Nikolai,
Mv's are awesome. As stunning to have in the garage as any F-car. I really wish I still had mine.
I wouldn't advise one as a first bike, but if your gonna get one no-one here is going to stop you.
1st thing is, they are so gorgeous how would you feel if you dropped it?
I slipped on my driveway with mine & was almost in tears when I saw the damage. There is a strong likelyhood you'll drop it sometime if it's your 1st bike. Parts can also be a problem here in the uk, with long waits for things.
Another problem is it won't inspire confidence in your riding like a sv or cbr would.
    It's a better bet than a v-twin for a 1st bike, because it's smoother.
If you do get one, make sure you get the sports pipes (it's motogp sound on the street).

Maybe check out the brutale or benelli tnt

Whole heartedlt agree with Badapple on this front,

I have just, 6 weeks ago, picked up my new MV Augusta, an SPR, and it's everythingI dreamed it would be....Although only been out once since I picked up, due to time and crap weather......tut......

As a first bike, any out and out sportsbike will be a bit of handful, and you would be ill advised to jump straight in without some experience under your belt ???

I'd recommend a sports tourer, a VFR would be my choice. Very comfortable for getting some decent mileage under your wheels, but sporty (&fast), enough to enjoy and experiment with lean angles, counter sterring etc.

    Good Luck,

    Seb

Well, I am going to ride an Aprilia rs 125 (or Cagiva) for a few months, so I won't be totally wet behind the ears. I understand that the bike would be a bit of a handfull in the beginning and will take due dilligence.
As for exhaust' i'll get a Ferraci one for the MV or somthing else for the Benelli.
