GTE Engineering is the company that rebuilds the F1 systems at a fraction of the cost of new parts. Congrats on the car, sorry it started out on the wrong foot. GTE should be able to get it running as good as new with a rebuild worst case...hopefully the issue is minor though.
I agree, the F1 pump running constantly meams the f1 pump relay is fried and melted. It's a very common issue. Needs to be replaced. It's like 50 bucks. It's behind the passenger seat.
Make sure to find out the procedure for checking the sump oil level as not like a normal car, hence the overfill and the problems it causes
Hydraulic circuit pressure is dropping, that is sitting idle in shopping. Should not drop according to them, meanwhile, the pump is running constantly. I hear you on relay, but where is the pressure going?
Check bleed screws on actuator and ediff solenoid ..those are very common issues before replacing actuator Also the accumulator ..that is cheap Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
part of the normal operation of the F1 pump is to intermittently cycle. I can only assume of if the pressure stayed constant and never dropped during normal operation it would never need to cycle again. Common failure points are the relay, which burn out your f1 pump, or a leak, which should easily be seen as a mess. Ive heard of people replacing accumulators but havent heard one that actaully failed causing a problem.
Based on the above ..the clutch subsystem is The cause .. could be a bad solenoid valve or tob.. the leak down is very high I would bet it is a bad clutch solenoid on the power distribution unit near accumulator Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
It’s nice the seller offered to pay half or most of the repair. We have seen in the TR forum recently a car sold form a member to another which died on him After 50 miles and the previous owner didn’t seem to think it was appropriate to financially help with the repairs! I’m glad it turns out better for u! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What a Beauty!!! It will all be worth it when you get it back to full health.. kudos to previous owner for their commitment. I did something similar when I sold my previous F-car, cost me 3k but it was worth it for a clear conscience.. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I will present this to the dealership tomorrow. I will be honest, I’ve had a lot of cars but first Ferrari so I don’t know much about them but, what they are telling me just doesn’t make sense. I originally myself though something with clutch, but there again, idk much about them.
You are confusing the 360 and the 430. Relays were an issue on early 360s, not much of an issue by late 360 and virtually not at all on the 430. OP, congrats on the new car. They are a ton of fun. Flash has done a lot and is probably on the right track. eDiff solenoid is an issue on the 430. Power distribution unit has been known to leak and if the throwout goes it will leak down pretty fast; that can ruin a perfectly good clutch as well.
Does anyone on here know of any good techs in Greensboro NC area? I may get a second opinion. I am just limited in this area.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong other then the F1 pump being stuck on. Was the bleed down in 2 minutes with the pump no longer being stuck on constantly? This is a normal time with the clutch being depressed (eg idle in neutral and in that state for under 300 seconds) Leakage is a bit high but spec for the clutch selenoid leakage rates is <60cc/min which you’re well within.
