I'm taking delivery of my first Ferrari Saturday. I have been an F1 fan since the 70's and have been admiring their road cars since then. My largest bucket list item resolved. I am in the Brooklyn Staten Island area and have a great hand car wash, but I'm thinking twice about taking a Nero Daytona 458 Spider there. i need an upgrade. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Congratulations!

I suggest you wash the car yourself- at home- if possible in the shade- and for big detailing work I would recommend:

    Detailing Dynamics

    Detailing Dynamics

    Or
    AMMO/ Larry Kosilla
    https://www.ammonyc.com/about/

I am sure there are others but these come immediately to mind.

Those two listed above have very good reputations. Nonetheless for maintenance washes you should do it yourself

Welcome and congrats on the new car!

We had a professional do an entire detail. Interior, engine bay etc. Even the wheel wells were cleaned. He applied a ceramic coating of some sort . Now we don't have to wax. Cost was $1200.

Get a water de-ionizer from Costco. Some of the best money I've ever spent. You can wash a black car in the sun and not dry it without water spots. Yes I've done it. I wish I had bought one of those a long time ago. Well worth the coin.

I would hand wash if it were me. All the scratches come from washing and drying.

Do it yourself always: you can inspect every part yourself ! Best to do imo ...

Hand wash and use a leaf blower or air compressor to dry it.

I recommend using a specialty air blower for drying. Check out

    https://www.amazon.com/Metro-MB-3CD-Master-Blaster-Motorcycle/dp/B0002SPCGC

This won't dry the car that much faster, but it will blow out all the little nooks where water accumulates and it also means you are not introducing micro scratches into the clear coat by drying with a towel.

I also recommend microfiber towels and mitts, etc for washing. Some people like foaming. You can learn a ton on line. Keep searching and you'll find more.

Yup I already see the micro scratches for the people that do my washes for me, so annoying. I want to simply wash my car myself now, it probably takes the same amount of time as going to them and coming back. Argghhh..

Air compressor is not appropriate because most of them give damp compressed air, not dried ... :)

    Beautiful! Congrats!

I'll reiterate what others have said. Handwash at home yourself. Use 2 buckets, and a leaf blower (or similar) to dry the car. The benefit of washing it yourself is that you'll be aware of any items that might need to be addressed- loose or broken parts, chips/scratches, or fluid leaks.

Beautiful photos. Good luck with her. And enjoy the one on one time when washing her.
