Hello Florida FChatters! As Mr. Austin Powers once said, "allow myself to introduce.....myself" After years as a Porsche guy (but dreaming of F Cars), I finally pulled the trigger yesterday on a 2007 430 spider from Ferrari of Atlanta. The car is tdf blue over tan, low miles and long warranty. To say that I am excited about receiving the car is a huge understatement. Hopefully, I will be in the saddle by the middle of next week. I live in Jupiter (near Indiantown Rd. and the beach) and work in downtown WPB. Undoubtedly, I will see some of you around, either on the road, or at traffic school. 2 quick "local" questions: 1. Any suggestions for the best shop around here to sell and install a radar detection system (Valentine or Escort)? 2. I am taking the family to Universal Studios next weekend and we are staying at the Portofino. With school vacations, my wife and kids are staying a few extra days, so we are taking 2 cars and I am returning early. Does anyone know if there is any covered/safe/reasonable parking at Universal? I will probably just call the hotel, but unless I can confirm something good, I think I will be stuck driving the minivan :-( See you around. Keep the shiny side up.
Welcome to FChat in Jupiter try Rosso Corsa Ferrari Service 16416 132nd Terrace North, Jupiter, FL 33478 (561) 747-2407 2) Take the Minivan, you dont want to leave the F430 unattended at a place like Universal
I will second that ...I brought my F430 to the Portifino and found kids laying on it taking pictures...
Congratulations on your 430 Spider. Most high end cars can have an owner experience that is lacking. I've had my 430 for a year and I like it more everyday. It's the only high end car I've owned that I can say that about. I hope you have a similar experience.
The Hotel gets PACKED! the only parking is valet or the parking garage. Honestly i wouldnt bring the fcar.
Steve, I live in Jupiter also. For you radar detector, call Ryan at RS Imports on Toney Penna Drive. 561-743-6441. He is great with wiring and electronics. They are open Monday - Saturday. Mention my name for FCHat. PaulieB
Congratulations on the new 430 and please know we are excited to have you in the family. Since I have a little seat time in South Florida I can second the Rosso Corsa recommendation. Kurt is straight up and very good. Tell him I said hello. The Ferrari Chat community is very strong down there as is the Ferrari Club of America. Have a great time and let us know if you need anything. Best, Will Campbell, GM, Ferrari of Atlanta. PS...a bunch of the FChat guys are coming up for a Georgia mountain drive that you may want to check into. Great place to enjoy your car.
WELCOME TO THE CLUB. IT IS AN EXPERIENCE THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO BELIEVE. THE FIRST TIME YOU WIND THAT BABY OUT TO THE REDLINE AND SLAM THOSE SHIFTS, YOU WILL GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR AND LET OUT A WHOOP. I HAVE HAD FERRARIS FOR A LONG TIME AND ALWAYS GET A THRILL EVERY TIME I TAKE MINE OUT. GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY IT.
Congrats again on the car Steve!!! I am really excited for you to get it. I know you will enjoy it and thank you so much for everything.
About 12 hours to go. I have read the owner's manual (twice). I have prepared the garage with a special safety buffer zone (removable pool fence) to prevent dings from kids' bikes. I have taken the day off from work. I have alerted a few friends to be on the lookout. Really, I think I have lost my marbles. PS, for cat1pro, I have also re-configured my training schedule for this week to ensure only 1 workout, which I will get in EARLY (90 minutes Z2 with 3 x 10 minutes big gear work). Just thinking about driving tomorrow, I am in danger of going anaerobic...
I bought my car in North Carolina and it was on a flat bed about 10 minutes later, and at my condo within 24 hours.... I could hardly stand the wait.... those feelings are all coming back waiting for yours !!! Looking for photos coming out of the trailer... there's a "birth" thread..... post 'em !!!! Congrats and enjoy the ride...!!!
I have taken one shot of my sitting in my garage, surfing FChat, and waiting. I'll give them until...now....and then call to see what's up.
Congrats on the new 'baby'!!! You're going to F"KING LOVE IT!!!!! And, a very serious 'no' in taking it to Universal unless you're not too fond of the color and you're thinking about repainting it already......... which would be a shame since that color combo is so fantastic!! Will and the guys at FOA are all great people to deal with. Awaiting transport is, well, as Tom Petty sang.....'the waiting is the hardest part...' Now that you own it, please post some pics, and come out to some of the local events to meet the south Florida crowd!!!
WTF!!!!! I want some F#$% pics or heads are going to roll.....Don't mess with us!!!!! Get the PICS!!!!!
