As per the title this is my first Ferrari (488) and I had a few questions. Would appreciate some guidance.

    1. Due to the winter weather I am driving it maybe once every 2-3 weeks or so. This will most likely last till April. Is the car ok parked up with the battery conditioner on. Do I need to turn it on etc or are these cars ok parked up for weeks at a time.

    2. When I turn on the car after a few weeks should I wait a while for the oil to get around the engine? Normally wait a minute or so.

    3. During the winter months if I take it for a 30 min drive does the engine need to be opened out or is low rpm driving ok.

    4. 95 or 97 octane petrol?

    1. I’m doing the same as you in the winter. It’s fine on the tender, many folks leave it for months straight without starting it.
    2. I actually let it idle for about 8-10 minutes to let things come up to a decent temperature, especially when it’s cold out.
    3. I don’t necessarily think it needs to be opened up fully when taking it out for winter drives, I’d just make sure it’s up to proper operating temps if you do.
    4. Yes, premium always.

You will be fine to leave it on a tender, not started.

If you chose to start it, run it long enough for the engine and oil temps to come up near operating temps.

If you can get 97 octane, I’d use that. We only have 91 here, and that’s fine too.

Search "winter" here on FChat and you will find lots of good suggestions like having a full tank of gas and overinflating the tires.

With my 599, this time of year I start it every 7 to 10 days, let it get to temperature and drive it in the storage unit to avoid flat spots on the tires. Then back on the charge until next week.

Another thing on my mind was. I live in a downtown area so rarely get to take the car out where the engine is opened out. Is that ok for the car to be driving it 99% of the time at casual speeds.

I would think it's OK, if you look at all folks in Asian countries with Ferraris most of them are doing just that. Plus all the people in Europe posting idiot videos of screaming down a street for one block at 80mph. Taking it out on the open road every once in a while would be good for it.
