Well after years of being unhealthily obsessed with Ferraris, and F355's in particular, and months of looking for the perfect car, after finally deciding to pull the trigger, I now have one in the garage. I would have posted yesterday but I was far too busy driving. But, as the weather is pretty nasty in Cville today I've got some free time!

The car is a 1999 F355 TB 6 speed Rosso Corsa on Tan with 3.9k miles. I've spent months reading pretty much every thread on the forum and went into this knowing what to look out for regarding garage queens etc, but as the car is going to FoW next week for the 30k, after passing a PPI with flying colors, I'm not too concerned with it.

Anyway, below are a few pics, I've posted the rest in a bit higher res at http://www.etfx.com/cars/f355 if anyone is interested.

I'd like to just say thanks to everyone on this forum who've been nothing but helpful regarding any questions I've had throughout the process. I'd also like to thank Jim Lindsay at Lindsay's automotive in Louisiana for fitting me in for a PPI at the last second. Lastly, I've already had the pleasure of dealing with three site sponsors, Kevin at NAP (front euro clears), Daniel at Ricambi (skid plates), and the guys at Valence (hey they're 5 minutes away and have an amazing shop full of carbon fiber toys, I had to stop by).

I feel like I just wrote way too much and it sounds like an acceptance speech at an award ceremony so I'll end it here!

What dealer did you get it from? Or was it a PP?

    great looking car! congrats.

one problem though,, assuming you live at that apt. complex, is there a garage for her? i'd hate to think that lovely ride is in the weather.

Great car and fortunately you chose the right freight company-Intercity.

    Who was your driver?

Have lots of fun. It's a beauty.

Congratulations, looks like a nice choice! I see you are only an hour north of me. Probably see you at an event in the future. Don't you just love having good roads close at hand?

sweet! That is the best color combo imo, bar none! Now you just need to fit her with a challenge grill and aftermarket exhaust, etc...
    enjoy

It was done via a private purchase after I found the car on Dupont Registry.

Check out this thread, http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89883, for more information. I posted a reply on page 43 with some more pictures of it in the shop.

I pretty much decided which apt I was going to get based on the fact that they offered private rentable garages :)

Yeah after a bit of frustration having to wait to get the car delivered, Intercity came through, and after picking the car up in Louisiana at noon on wednesday, had the car to me thursday at 6. The drivers were a husband and wife team, the husband's name escapes me at the moment but the wife was Virginia. They both were extremely nice and very professional with what they did.

The roads are great here, especially after having spent the majority of my life in RI dodging pot holes. The only problem now are these pesky thunderstorms all weekend!

Seeing as this is your first F-car, a word of warning - get ready for the picture takers. Part of the ownership experience! (A fun one.) Gas station conversations occur 90% of the time. At first I thought people were taking my picture, until I noticed it never happens when I'm driving my SUV :).

Enjoy the car and welcome to the fraternity.

    Congratulations!

Re: picture takers - this was a new phenomenon for me too. People are generally positive about the car, though. When I'm washing the car in the driveway, people driving by will stop, jump out of their car, just to say hi and view the F355. The favorite question is always "how fast have you taken it?" :D
