Very curious....would imagine flat plane by how fast it revved when I drove it, but I'd imagine they would refer to this as the first Ford with a flat plane when talking about GT350.

What I'm driving at is, which of the available Mustangs have the closest sound to the supercharged Ford GT V8?

A GT500 and a Ford GT sound very similar. Both are 5.4 cars with blowers.

    Fwiw, the 2013-2014 GT500 had a 662 hp 5.8L engine (with a 2.3L TVS supercharger), not the 5.4L.

For the OP, both the GT and the GT500 had cross plane cranks.

    Thanks for the info guys!

I think down the road I'll need a GT500 just for the sound....:D

if you are referring to the 2005 thru 2006 Ford gt it is a cross plane engine as well as every other ford v8 engine built prior to the new gt350 with its new flat plane V8 engine.....
