would like to change oil in my 86 mondial cab...bought a Baldwin B253 and using Mobile 1 15W50. Any do's and donts'? I have the Workshop Manual but I dont seem to be able to find anything about changing the oil, crankcase capacity, etc. How many quarts does the 3.2 use? and how do you keep the old oil from running over the engine when you screw off the filter....I assume there is some kind of check value in the filter that prevents that from happening???? Thanks for any assistance.

Not sure about capacity on the 3.2, but try a large ziplock baggie over the filter to prevent a mess.

Ahhhhh, Mikey - - what if I have no leaks at all? Mind ya, I've used nothing but a top brand, fully synthetic oil for all the time I've had Rachel (11 years). :):)

Ya just never know, do ya?!?

Happy weekend to you and the family.

    Cheers, Hankster

Your 92 T and Daves 92 T could hold Mobil 1 just fine. I'm not sure about a 3.2 that has not had recent seals replaced. I could be wrong but I when I tried it, it was leaking.

Btw Hank, just saw your Garage BODYGUARD product coming soon !! Ask Daniel @ RICAMBI
Count me in, very nice !

    Cheers,
    Mike

If correctly, nothing should come out when you take the filter off :) When putting a new one on fill it already with new oil before you begin the change and let it sink in the filter. This way almost nothing comes out when putting it back on.

No problem to use Mobile 1 full synthetic. I use now Mobil 1 extended life 10w-60 and the engine runs more smooth and less noisy. This oil is especially for classic cars for the reason you mention. Thank you Bell! ;)

Do buy some extra Ltrs/Quarts as this is not something you can buy at a gas station or car shop if you need some to full up. I had at least 2 liters with me to Italy not knowing how much oil it would use with this trip. Same trip last year different oil 1,5Ltr. This year with Mobil 1.. 0.5Ltr. :D
