After a 4 month wait for summer, and general timing, the 328 is at its new home in the Austrian Alps.
One small challenge with the emissions e tests to import the car here from Germany but thankfully that was solved with a few miles and a bottle of Eurosol in the tank to clean the car out. They tend to be pretty strict here in Salzburgland.
As you all know, the car is such a rewarding drive. I've had a chance now to compare it to my 911/964 and bottom line is you really should have both cars. (Especially if you want to keep all your kids happy at the same time.)
You can fly under the radar more with the 911 but that doesn't make it any less rewarding than the 328. IMHO
As my car is a 1986, its way more analog than the 911 and I really enjoy that.
It reminds me a lot of my race kart from the steering and brakes point of view but also seems to have a 2 stroke like noise and the fact your sitting on the floor.
You do need to be aware of how close the controls/ rear view mirror are on the car..... to your head. I've smacked it a few times now..

I love the shifter gate and I'm happy to learn that it does get surprisingly easy once things warm up. But you need to be methodical about it.
You can tell the car was built for proper driving technique with the position of the pedals to one another. The Porsche's floor hinged gas / height were horrible in comparison untill you put in the Rennline pedals.

Interesting the difference between the door closure sounds of both. If you have a 911 you will know what I mean.

It's definitely an event driving it for you as the owner but also for the people who see it go by. It really surprises me how much attention it draws for a 30 year old car.

So after 30 years of wanting this thing...I'm happy to report that it was well worth the wait.

I look forward to putting some Km's on it now. We have some of the best driving roads on the planet here.....and summer has more or less settled in now for the long haul.

I will have some more photos to come. I've put some more in the album.
    Cheers
