Ok, let me try this again since my first post probably will not get past the mods because I came off a bit too exuberant and maybe like a troll. Anyway, I am a VP of an affiliate of a Germany company just a bit north of Frankfurt. The big boss owns a 360 Modena and he has given me the keys to it to drive on my stay here. Amazing car. I want one but unless I get wealthy soon, I never will. I am just thankful that I got the opportunity. It's a bucketlist thing I guess....

Words cannot describe how much just a short rev gives me a rush. Wow....all I can just say is "wow". I am hooked. I want one...badly. I feel very lucky to have been given the privilege to have been given the keys to such a work of art.

Did I say that this is a 360 Modina with low mileage? I'm pretty sure that I did. Wow....just wow.!

Monty, That's my car to a "T". Trust me there's no magic to owning one. Figure a new M3 or a used Modena.. you can do it.

I'm not one of those that think you need to be 'wealthy' to own a Ferrari. You can buy 360's all day long in the $70k range. It's not an insignificant amount of money, but a new loaded Escalade costs more. It IS an expensive toy however.

Sorry folks, I didn't mean to come off as implying that a Ferrari is a car for the wealthy only. The point that I was making is that I have a wife, mortgage, and a few children to put through college yet. So a Ferrari would be out of the question...unless...

Well the car now has been my daily driver for over a week. I only have one more week with it and then it's back to my normal life.

There are 'lesser' Ferrari's that are just as fun....

Be patient young Jedi, a Ferrari is in your future I foresee.
Pay attention to your near term priorities ... Family, mortgage, college expenses, etc., and your time will come! And when it does...enjoy!

No self respecting 360 owner would let someone drive their Ferrari, especially if they did not own one and if they were in a foreign and unfamiliar country.

Letting someone drive your Ferrari is like letting someone sleep with your wife and hope nothing happens.

I take an entirely different view. Since my job as an automotive journalist specializing in collector vehicles relies so heavily on people letting me pilot their cars, I have no issue with responsible people using mine. I figure if guys allow me to drive their day-old 599 or 100-point restored Miura, Bentley, Shelby GT-350, Packard, what's wrong with me letting others drive my F-cars or Corvettes (or borrow my truck)? As best as I can remember nobody has asked to borrow the 86 Dodge convertible since 1990. ;)

I've loaned my 328 out...and when the tranny got stuck in 5th, luckily my friend was smart enough to unscrew the gate, which enabled him to get it back into neutral and into other gears. (a- he's a mechanic and b-the issue has since been fixed.)

In all the years I've let friends borrow cars, the only issue was when my good friend and insurance agent started the 328 in gear and ran it into a bench, which pushed through my friend's shop wall. It wound up fine, with the 328 getting a much needed repaint in its factory correct color. Come to think of it, the same friend ran over a pair of pliers in the road with my Miata, but not only paid for the new front tires, but the tire place lost a center cap, and wound up just buying new rims!

At the end of the day, a car is just a car. It's insured. Most people I know drive my cars far more delicately than I do. Chairpilot is the exception -- when he drove my GT4 I damn near crapped myself from excitement. Of course, I was wedged in the back seat and had never felt the GT4's forces and sounds without being at the controls.

I can appreciate this sentiment. Of course I am not complaining. I am not doing the "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" treatment. I baby the car like it was my own. All of that said, the owner is a self-made millionaire from very humble roots who has a "10" of a wife that he does not share. :D

You've driven this car more than most owners have driven theirs (not too many daily driver Ferrari's). How about some impressions?

Oh dear lord, where do I start. It has great manners, even on really crappy weather days, which we have had a lot of lately in the Frankfurt area. I baby it like it is a treasure but I also will run it up when the traffic is light and the roads are dry. Oh dear lord...did I say that already?
