I remember my dad worked with a guy (at IBM in Japan) that supposedly owned the first post war race Ferrari produced. If I remember correctly, his name was something like John Willerman. Anyone have any idea?

    Thanks.

All the racing Ferraris were post war. As far as I know, the earliest even-numbered car called a Ferrari (Most race cars were even-number) is #002C.

Before the actual Ferrari marque came into being, Mr Ferrari's stable consisted of ALFA Romeos. Due to some sort of an agreement, he could not put his name on a car immediatley after leaving ALFA. Hence his first two cars were designated AAV 815.
1.5 liter straight 8, consisting of two FIAT blocks.

Car #002C carried the original Columbo V-12.
