The tail end looks killer, but the front lacks the imposing nature of the 996 Turbo and GT2...

My thoughts exactly, I'm not very frightened by that smiley face with a moustache front bumper opening. Still, it is a turbo, which is a legendary machine. I just agree that it should look more menacing.

Worked for me then. Works for me now. Not sure if you have to be member of Rennteam.com.

Does anyone else think that it looks a little too much like the outgoing model?

Not sure Id call it HOT. My first reaction is it looks bloated... I'll reserve further comment til I see a production car.

Hey Eric, when's the debut? Gonna be a launch party @ JD's again?

Good question Greg. After seeing these photos I'm hoping that this is a test mule or an aftermarket kit from a producer like Techart (unlikely).

It's a disappointment to me and would continue a string of disappointments over the years from my friends at Porsche (other than the CGT of course).

Yes, there will be a launch party at JD which we will ALL get an invite to. Once I have specifics on the actual car I will post here and until then pray to the Porsche Gods that the new TT is not the one pictured above. :(

The new 997 TT is 99.9% the car pictured above. Have gotten confirmation from some people who are very close to PAG. Believe you me, it's not an accident that these pictures were captured. I agree with you Eric - I'm disappointed too. The fog lights up front are awful, and the tailpipes look wierd.

Greg, this car will be launced in Europe in 1Q06 but will only reach our shores end of Summer / Fall 06, so don't hold your breath for the party just yet. I'm sure when it happens though, Eric will get us the hookup.

No worries E, alas it simply makes the 993 that much more appreciable.

Actually a friend from Stuttgart emailed this TT cab spy photo to me tonight :D

    Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!! :)

In all seriousness, if/when I pick up another Pcar it will be a 993TT or a 356.

IMO the best of breed from beginning to end (air cooled that is).

The new shape is much better in my opinion than the the old 996 Porsche. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

its such a joke that if you put regular turbo wheels on it you cant tell the difference between a 996. Great redesign! :rolls eyes:

Seriously! It looks like they took the advances in esthetics that were made with the 997 Carrera and threw them out the window. It hardly looks any different to me, and I wasn't a fan of the 996 TT's looks at all.

Wow I'm pleasantly suprised for a change. I do think they could have done a little more with the whale tail though. I miss the humungous rear wing that the turbos are known for.
