I will post pics of my new car. 2000 360 modena F1, 2 owner, 9852 miles. I backed her out of the driveway with much trepidation. Yes, I read the owners manual.....12 times. So basically, you select a gear, 1 thru sixth. Give her a little gas in first gear and she wants to GO and GO NOW. Start out in 2nd gear and you get a much improved smooth "launch". Doesn't take to long to learn the nuances of this control system, but it clearly shifts faster than anything I could possibly do. End result, I expected this car to be a little lesser of a drive than the Porsche 911 twin turbo we sold. NOT SO.......as far as I can tell, my 360 is very, very close to the 911. It is difficult to compare to the 348 which I sold to purchase this car. I loved my 348....18k mileage, very, very nice car. But, it appears I am going to like my 360 more. The car ran incredibly fast, the power steering was a plus, the car shifted flawlessly. The 348 was fun to drive, no power steering, smaller interior compartment but I liked the gated transmission.. The 360 really is a much more modern car - and for now, I like it better than my 348. It is a lot easier to drive not using 1st from a dead start. NOw I use 2nd gear........get a much more civilized "launch"........I will post my pictures shortly, along with the name of the dealership I dealt with and some proof of at LEAST poor customer service. I want to give them sufficient time to make right the problems I have discovered.
Oh! Thank you for the heads up... There seems to be a million things that can go wrong with the car it scares the heck out of me!
The car is not fragile so enjoy it. It is not a good idea as pointed out however starting out from a full stop in second as more clutch wear just as it would be on a stick. If you want a slower power on use other modelities other than sport mode.
Enjoy!!!! I went from a 308 to the 360 and there REALLY is no comparison. Drive in good health!!! Yours, Tom
