My 85 Mondial QV euro was a non-running project car when purchased. It was completely disassembled for the rebuild, paint, cleaning, etc. All wiring harnesses were gone through and it has a new fuse board from Guido. All electrics seem to be working.

The engine rebuild included new pistons, rings, bearings, nikasil re-plating on the liners, gaskets, etc.

The ignition system has new caps, rotors, wires, plug extenders and TDC sensors (with the original 803a digiplex boxes)

The fuel system has all new hoses, cleaned tanks, new fuel pump, accumulator, filter. The bosch k jetronic including the fuel distributor, WUR, etc. was completely rebuilt by CIS Flow Tech.

I attempted a first start last weekend and it will run, but just for a second or two. I tried to follow the instructions from CIS Flow Tech to set the mixture but felt like I was unscrewing the mixture screw too much (almost all the way out) to try to get the fuel to stop flowing from a line that I disconnected from the top of the fuel distributor.

My plan is to first check that there is a good spark on the front and back banks, and once confirmed, then to go back to adjusting the FI. I am also unsure if maybe there is a wiring issue that prevents the starting system to stay in the run position...So essentially I am starting from scratch trying to diagnose a non-starting car and would welcome any and all suggestions for how to proceed, what to check, etc. Thanks in advance, I think I'm pretty close....

Spray fuel in to the plenum and see if engine runs that way...to find out it a fuel delivery problem.

Looks like it runs on the “start” fuel pump relay, not the “running” fuel pump relay. Try disconnecting the blue “running” fuel shut off switch on the fuel distributor.

Guido - there is no way this car was going to run and have no electrical issues without your fuseboard. Can't thank you enough and appreciate your patience answering all my questions
