So, today I will be starting the car for the first time after being stored since early december.

-I need to deflate the tires back to optimal pressure as they were overinflated pre-storage.

-I assume I need to run the fans, wipers, radio, switches, etc...at least once.

-I'll let her warm up at least 10-15 minutes idling then take her for a spin at least 30 minutes before I bring her back home to my garage.

Anything else I need to know? Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help, it's the first time I bring my car back from storage as an owner.

Hi Fab, that is plenty but I will add one thing. When you turn the key on for the first time turn it to the start position but don't crank the motor until you here the fuel pump stop. Since it has been a while since the last time it ran the fuel will need a bit of time to recirculate and allow a good initial start up. That's what I do and have been doing for the last 9 years if the car has been sitting for more then a few weeks let alone the Winder hibernation.

I just started mine up for the first time last week. I had also changed the oil and coolant before storage - once it cam up to temp I checked the oil and everything was good.

Alright Fab! Reminds me of pulling my bicycle out of the cellar after the long Massachusetts winters of my youth. Springtime is the best. Enjoy...

If the car has been sitting for a few months I like to pull the fuse to the fuel pump and turn the engine over until I get some kind of oil pressure. It's fuse #21 in the handbook in Fig 15 in section L21 in the fuse/relay box in the passenger's footwell. Tweezers are handy for pulling the fuse.

Check the last 2 pages in the Québec thread in the Canada section.

You can get the exemption if you're planning on driving out of the country so I printed out the exemption and brought my passport with me today.

If I was to be intercepted by the cops, I would have shown them my exemption paper and passport and just claim that I was heading to New York.

Oh and it's free by the way...
