I have the opportunity to drive my Uncle's 2008 599GTB at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Dallas this weekend. I have dozens and dozens of track days under my belt in an E46 M3, 997TT and an E60 M5 and would consider myself to be an advanced driver. This is my first time at Eagles Canyon - and - will be my first time driving the 599. I will likely be able to familiarize myself with it the night before - but thats about it. I have never even sat in the car so it will be completely new to me. What recommended settings do you suggest?
To be on the safe side, leave the car in sport mode. It will be plenty enough. Have a great time and drive safe.
I agree, it's not your car, you shouldn't push it too hard and risk damaging it. Plus you aren't very familiar with the vehicle and its handling dynamics.
