Congradulations on the wife allowing you to finally get what you wanted. Now you have to do your homework and find the right one and most reliable example of either of the two you want. I would go with the 328? What are your instincts?

Prevailing wisdom suggests the 328, as its the final evolution of the 308, more refined in terms of styling and design and a larger engine displacement. I opted for a 328, as they're basically bulllet-proof if maintained properly. Also one of PF's greatest forms. Next question: GTS or GTB. Again, you'll get varying opinions on this. IMO, GTB, because the lines are pure and uninterrupted. More GTS built, so its easier to find a nice one. Good luck!

    I ORIGINALLY WANTED A 308 EURO, I LIKE THE NOSE. I REALIZE THAT A 328
WILL COST A BIT MORE, BUT I'M LEANING THAT WAY. I DON'T MIND A CAR THAT HAS BEEN CARED FOR AND DRIVEN PROPPERLY. OH YEA, MY WIFE SAYS YES TO EVERYTHING, THAT'S WHY I ALREADY HAVE 3 CARS, I THINK I'LL KEEP HER!

Being a 308 owner, I'd say a 328 has the plus of a larger engine & newer mechanicals. But as a daily driver? You could, but I don't think so.

    No power steering,
    poor A/C
Tends to run hot esp in slow moving traffic
    AAA+ towing mandatory
looking up at the door sills of 70% of the vehicles on the road (SUVs) is no fun either. They look at you more like a bug to squish....if they could catch you.

The car is getting older and parts will be wearing out faster than say a 355 or 360.

I love my 308 dearly. But I also have my daily driver too.

    Classic.

I like your replies better though...not as much reading to do...the way I like it. Reading paragraphs in caps make me dizzy...or perhaps it's b/c I just got out of the hot tub after polishing off a percoset and 1/2 dozen gin and tonics.

Get the 328 over the 308, but you could easily get a 348 for the same money.

I'm finding that using a Ferrari as a daily driver is more cost effective, bc it breaks down a lot less frequently when used often (Noah's cars do not count ;)

That sums it up well. If you've got a budget of about 4-5K/ year for maintenance and repairs, don't mind ineffective A/C, and have a spare car for all the down time during repairs, then having an older f car as a daily driver is just the ticket.

If the budget allows get a 348 that has been sorted. The $4-5K a year is high in my opinion, unless you have problems, which is why you need to get a car that has been sorted or you can just save yourself and get a Porsche!

I don't own a Porsche, but my brother does and I can vouch for this. I spend 7-10k/year/car and he never spent more than 3k in one year... and he goes skiing with his car.

Someone check me into an insane asylum!

Good question - my father has asked me the same thing on many occasions.
