    Hi guys,

Thanks for taking a look at my post.

I'm located in Arlington Heights but I split my time between the burbs and the Lake Geneva, WI area. I just bought my first Ferrari which will be delivered to my home in Lake Geneva on Friday this week. A beautiful 2000 Ferrari 360 in Rosso Corsa / Crema leather. Best part is it's a 3 pedal car with only 7400 miles.. I'm on top of the world right now!

This is not my first "exotic" as I also own an Aston Martin DBS as well as a DB9.. Both 6 speed cars. However, being my first Ferrari I do have some questions I'm hoping some of you local F-Chat members can help me with.

As I said my 360 will be kept primarily in Wisconsin and spend most of its time there basically.. Obviously WAY BETTER driving roads to really be able to enjoy the car without constant fear of being swallowed whole by a pot hole etc ;) I'm sure you guys can relate.

While I do much of my own service and maintenance work, I need to find a competent independent shop somewhere in the North suburbs or SE Wisconsin area to do a timing belt service for me as that's a little beyond my pay grade at this point. This is something I need to get done immediately and I'm hoping you guys have some suggestions. Again, I want to find an independent shop..someplace I can develop a relationship with to handle all the major repairs and services which will inevitably be needed. Dealer service departments are fantastic obviously and I've had great experiences with the guys at LFSC over the years but as we all know that "white glove" service understandably comes with a premium attached to it.

I'd also like to know more about any area Ferrari clubs or Meets. I'm very interested in getting involved with other enthusiasts in the area. I've been an Aston Martin fanatic for many years and have loved the cars and brand very much but unfortunately not many of us around. I've been disappointed in the lack of any organizations for Aston Martin locally so I'm very excited to become involved with the Ferrari community.

Thanks again for taking a look and for any help you can provide.

Al at GT Motorsports! Very respectable guy.
Milwaukee concours d'elegance is a really good event. We had 30 F-cars there last year, so far I hear only 20 signed up at this time, hoping for more!!
Last year was a Blast, check out the video.

Another to keep an eye out for this fall the guys up at MPI Neenah are putting together an event. Once again last year was one the best experiences of my life.

Thanks for the info! Who puts on the Concourse in Milwaukee? I'd love to make it to that event with both the 360 as well as my DBS. Thanks again for the feedback.

Speedracer, congrats on the new car!!

Not sure if you've looked at Aston Martin Owners Club, there are a handful of Chicago guys that are great and have events.

I'm a member of FCA and members seem great as well. You just missed the Ferraris on Oak event, however, this weekend is Horses and Horsepower:

Yes.. These guys were great. Car goes in to them tomorrow for belt service etc. By far the most reasonable pricing I've found and obviously lots of experience.

Good to heart that you have a nice mix of proper British iron in your collection. Pix of the DB9 with 3 pedals please!

    You got it.. :)

I absolutely love these V12 Aston Martin's and the 6speed transmissions in these cars are fabulous.

My plan was to sell my DB9 after purchasing my DBS but it's been pretty tough to do so. The cars are very similar but I've had the DB9 for many years now and it's been such a pleasure.. So hard to give up. :/

I echo the sentiment on GT Motorsports.... Al knows his stuff, and I wouldn't trust my F cars to anyone else.
The best part is he is not going to try selling you things you don't need.
He's quick and honest, hard to find those types of mechanics, definitely a no BS kind of guy and can back it up with his knowledge.

Recently sold the Bronco. It was a frame off restoration. My first car as a kid was an early Bronco and always wanted another one. Turns out I enjoyed building it more than driving it basically. So decided it should go to someone else who will enjoy it. I had it painted in Aston Martin "Casino Royale" (color).. I'm sure it's the only early Bronco running around painted this.. suited it nicely though.
