just picked up a 550, and first time fueling the car, and noticed fuel backing up. i fueled until the pump clicked. then removed the pump and noticed fuel backing up and coming up and out of the fuel opening. then i quickly tightened the cap. and dried up the car. have anyone seen this before?

FWIW, not quite same symptom but years ago I had a recurring problem with "pressurization" of the fuel tank when refueling. Pressure would build up and shutoff the pump and it was a real PITA to fill the tank. The issue was with the "evaporative emissions control system". This problem would usually show up on long road trips and was worked on by dealers in TX, NV, and CA. The problem was finally solved by changing the fuel vapor charcoal filter.
