I was thinking the same thing Myself and the rear 3/4 shot really really emphasizes it.

Thats just round the corner from my house:)

I'll take the 458 over the Mac any day of the week, I find the Mclaren company as a whole so grey, boring and clinical.

    **** yeah Maclaren !

The engine is gonna be the ****, taking in consideration the vast experience in building engines....and especially turbo ones.

And the car is so awesome it doesn`t need electronic marketing BS gizmo`s like E-diff, F1 trac and other useless F1 tech stuff.

    Maclaren Yeahhh

Those objective british journalists already proclaimed the MP4 whatever, more important than the second coming of Jesus.

    Mclaren this, Mclaren that......

Yeah, they have made it quite easy to tick every option on the list without telling you just what sort of fee they might entail. Smart move probably - people will get excited about the car they've assembled in their minds and find a way to justify the costs of certain options.

Here's the email that was sent announcing the Configurator availability with mention of pricing being forthcoming:

Here's what I built so far.

That McLaren is such an amateur hour design. It's a collection of styling devices an rather average first year design student would use.

Not sure how long those wheels would last over here, on our poorly repaired, pot hole infested UK roads!

Think you have mistaken these :) you are comparing kerb weight of 430 with dry weight of 458. Kerb weight of 458 is 3274lbs (with carbon race seats & forged wheels), so 458 is sadly actually heavier. Scuderia quoted as 2975 as European version.

it looks fugly from the rear in the same way the 458 unfortunately looks fugly from the front (unless in black)

no question, it's a serious piece of kit. if only the engine had a 'tighter' note...rebody this thing, stick a small na 10k rpm V-8 in the back and call it a day:)

I just think it is incredible that the top of the engine (not counting the intake manifold) sits about even with the top of the rear wheel.

Jiaim on Team Speed made one to look like the current livery of McLaren's Formula One cars that I thought was pretty cool. I'd want the seats to match each other (both red or both black), but I do like the driver focused cockpit surround.

That's really nice Peloton25! My favorite version of it so far. I wonder if in person, seeing it parked outside your favorite restaurant, it's going to look like, or at least give the feel of, the aston martin v8 vantage meets audi r8.
