First winter with countach

Just wondering what standard procedure is for keeping a countach in my garage over the cold Ohio winter.

it’s on a trickle charger.

do I do fluids now or in spring?
Do I start up and warm up to operating temp occasionally?

Not that it's much help to you, but my first winter with the Ferrari here in Texas is "awesome - weather is cool enough to enjoy it - where can I go?". And I expect to be the same when I get my Countach in the coming months - for us its about where we can enjoy it.

If you are planning an oil change, always change the oil in the autumn. The old oil cannot whitstand water and moisture as good as fresh oli. If you have the possibility to use the car during the winter, please do. Warm up the engine properly and works the brakes.

I'm in Ky. I prefer to let it sit once the temp drops below 40 degrees. You can more damage than good trying to run the car for just a few minutes, especially with thick oil. If you do start it, run the engine up to operating temps. I disconnect the battery as well. If you're concerned about mice damage, dryer fabric sheets supposedly run them off.

So, what I do here in New England's beautiful but crappy winters is the correct amount of Sta-bil fuel stabilizer and keep on my Deltran Battery Tenders. I usually run all my cars every 2-4 weeks or in rotation. 5-10 minutes.
I drive them up until the first dumping of salt or liquid sodium chloride.
If the roads are clear in Dec, Jan, Feb....I have been known to drive around. The cold is irrelevant to me and the cars run the same. But, as long as the roads are clean and dry.

Never a problem with winter storage.

I always change my oil in the fall. During the winter, we usually get some nice Indian summer days and I’ll fire up the car and drive it 5-10 miles to circulate everything. We’re lucky here in Washington as they don’t use salt on the roads, only sand. If the weather is really bad (like we had last year), I’ll fire the car up every couple weeks in the garage.

I keep the car on a trickle charger all year long.

Sta-Bil and non ethanol fuel..oil change at least twice a year regardless of mileage ..1 with each
big change in temperature= spring/fall

In addition to the above commments, I also inflate the tires to keep from getting flat spots and put Stabil in the gas tank. Your Octane will drop 2-3 per month so after six months of Ohio winter, the gas is weak in the spring if you dont treat it. I also only keep 1/2 tank in winter so I can top it off with fresh gas in the spring.

It is superb at all times, but also excellent in your tank during storage. It is pure, and does not contain the additives that can cause internal damage. Over time, the purity of this type of racing fuel will also have a cleansing affect on the interior components of your engine.

Adding stabil is a good move.
Generally, I just let them sit over the winter as starting it does nothing but burn fuel (the car is going to cool back off). Change fluids and filters in the spring.
