Fishermen will enjoy this one.... Heres how it played out -- Decided to go fishing this morning for strippers, been fishing these same waters for years and I know all the ins and outs [ I thought ], I decided to take the short cut and avoid a no wake zone, Cruising at 35mph in my skiff I noticed that birds were walking on the water, My thoughts were MOTHER ****ER !!!!! I missed the slough and quickly came to hault.......... We couldnt push her off the bar, called boat US and they couldnt get their boat in close enough to drag me out, after of course delivering 500 feet of rope, just wasnt happening....... Waited 4 frigin hours for enough tide to get in, after of course being eaten alive by the knats............ You can see in the one pic the slough that I overshot. Just couldnt push the boat, tooooooooooo heavy......
So, who wants me to take em fishing..........My fun for the day.

ps. sorry for the lousy phone camera pics - peterS gave me the phone.....

.pps. Whats really pothetic--- i have a captains license......

    That's a good story, John--made me laugh!

Don't feel alone in making mistakes....last week I was attempting to put a nearly full 5 gallon bucket of paint on top of a 6' shelf in the new garage and my rotator cuff decided to 'fail' (if ya don't know, this is like a kick in the balls--but in your shoulder). I dropped the bucket. I had like a 4 1/2 gallon lake of latex on the concrete.

What were you using for bait? One dollar bills folded in half and held with your teeth?

    "stripers" are bass

"strippers" are lovely ladies who enjoy the art of disrobing

I normally am not a stickler for spelling, but I have to say most readers probably lost interest after reading the first post.

Just a quick question....While you were out there, you mean to tell me that NOBODY passed you to offer help to tug your boat out of the mud?.................Or did they all speed by you laughing their asses off!

A few boats went by, but there was no way in hell anyone could get in close enough. The cut through and where I got hung up was about 300 yrds to the main channel. And yes, a few boats went by but no one stopped. I ALWAYS stop to assist someone in need, I cant tell you how many boats and jet skiis Ive towed to safety. Ive even pulled people from fridgid water when a boat capsized and i was the first on the seen. Boaters 101 = always assist. You can actually get yourself in trouble if you pass a distressed vessel and dont help, but thats jersey for ya........

That sucks. And yes, passing a distressed boat is a big deal if you don't help! Suprised nobody could have gotten close and thrown a rope to you and at least tried...............But then again, maybe they knew you and had women on board:D
