When you do steve, it would be great if you did a write up for us. Cant be that much different to what you are used to can it?? Are you buying one of the american ones or original Ferrari? Or even having a trimmer make you one up?

He is talking about the fabric roof, he is a Brit. We call it a hood.
Any fool can fit a bonnet or engine cover:D

Was planning on doing a write up mate.It is an aftermarket hood supplied by a company in the UK but made in the US so no idea how good or bad they are, should be with me tomorrow.
Although I've fitted loads of hoods before this will be the first 348/355 so it's always handy to pick up a few hints and tips of someone that has done the job before.

How you doing anyway mate ??

The engine has a cover/lid and the luggage compartment has a bonnet, the hood in the real world is the soft top :D:D:D

I take it by the overwhelming response that no one has ever fitted a hood/soft top themselves ?? :D

We are all waiting to find out how much you struggle with it!
Have you asked Big Mark Henderson? I know he's done a few Porsche hoods in his time, he may have done a 348 before.

If there is one person who will do a professional job of fitting one, and that's stevew who started this OP.
He runs a classic car restoration business (20+ years) and i have seen his work first hand. This includes fitting hoods to various models. All the guys looking for is any unforeseen tips that may aid him in this model.
He has 2 348s and his company is currently doing a restoration of a 348 spyder, he has a detailed thread running on another forum. I will post a link but i fear this forums insecurities will not allow the link. http://*************/forum/showthread.php?t=35919

I understood that bit Steve, it's just the rest of it seemed a bit of a rant that I didn't understand.
Glad you liked the Tonneau cover, looking forward to seeing the finished car!
