Had a bunch of friends come over today to start getting the Lemons car ready for the September race. We didn't get much work done on the car due to a very dead battery and lack of a sawzall, so we had a good time hanging around grilling some burgers. Actually my wonderful wife grilled the burgers, that was awesome. But it turned out that none of them had ever even been in a Ferrari before. You should have seen the looks when I started throwing them the keys. Today I got to give five friends their first ride and first drive in a Ferrari, enough that the last run had to stop for gas! John showed up with his 10 year old son who was wearing a Ferrari shirt and grinning from ear to ear as soon as he saw the 308 sitting in the driveway. Needless to say he got the first ride. :D Then John and I went out and HE couldn't stop grinning either, said he had always dreamed of driving one. Funniest one was my buddy Chad who is 6'7" and was wondering if he would fit. Yes he could drive it, but was a lot more comfortable as a passenger.

Today I got to give five friends their very first Ferrari experience. That was awesome! :D

Both! Well except for the 10 year old, they all drove it and I gave some rides too, since I was willing to push it a bit harder. :) These guys have 911s, M-coupe, M3, a 335i, 944S2 track car, and they all couldn't stop talking about how amazing it felt to drive my little 308. It was a great afternoon.

    Very cool!!!

Today I gave an old friend his first ride and drive in a Ferrari. I hadnt seen him in a few years and it had been about six years before that. Its a lot of fun to do that for folks.

Dude, lemons races are such fun!! What are you running?

Our last lemon's race was done in a ford ranger painted up (house paint and rollers) like an ice cream truck as one of the guys had a whole bunch of "good humor" ice cream stickers for some reason. We even piped ice cream truck music to outboard speakers as we raced....

The Ferrari content in your post was way cool too!

Lemons racing is awesome! We have run 4 so far with our CRX, finishing 6th overall in the last one. So far it's had 4 different liveries, all painted with leftover house paint and rollers, and spray cans.

Race 1 - Utility Muffin Racing (Frank Zappa theme, complete with speakers on the outside)
Race 2 - Team Honda Earth Nightmare (big mushroom cloud on the hood)
Race 3 - Monty Python's Flying CRX (trojan rabbit, coconuts and more, see pic below)
    Race 4 - Team too-fricken-cold-to-think-up-a-new-theme
    Race 5 - Iffy Lube
