I think this will work for keeping the carpets down in the 308. While repairing and cleaning the floor carpet in the M3 I discovered BMW used Matlock to keep them down.
A piece of round plastic locks into a slot in the floor, and a Round Velcro glued on the bottom of the carpet "grabs" the plastic holding the carpet in place.
This should work in the 308. See pic. Anyone has used one of these?

I have a bag of those things left over from my various BMWs. I thought about using them but I don't see a way to attach the bottom part to the floor of a 3x8.

I've found that the Matlock-type systems still slid about quite a bit.
For my Boxer, I cut a piece of pegboard (for the pre-made holes) to the shape of the flat floor, and wired the mat to that in four spots - two at teh rear edge covered by the front of the seat, and two way up in the footwell where they can't be seen. Never walked or shifted, no matter how much heel-toe driving I did.

What I do is reach down every once in a while and pull the rug back. It seems to work OK.

I am using heavy duty velcro that you can buy at Home Depot in rolls and cut to fit.
Then, even though it has an adhesive back help keep it secure by sewing a couple threads to the bottom carpet and velco strips.

Use an upholstery needle for ease of install
