Fixing a broken mirror position switch

    So on these lovely 599s, you cannot buy the mirror position switch in isolation. You have to buy the whole unit for 900 bucks. For some reason, you can buy the switch for a 458/california on ebay for like 50 bucks. So I pulled apart my switch and replaced the broken clear plastic "switch" piece using the 458 part and it works like new! It's a bit finicky to take apart the switch itself but quite self explanatory. Believe me, I'm barely smart. I also realize it looks quite horrific, will need to get it refinished at some point but doesn't bother me quite enough at this point.     You can get a new internal plastic part from carplastix.com for about $40

    Ah I see that. Good to know. I did also need the knob itself as the inside of mine was cracked and not staying on the plastic bit.
