I am making some research about the Ferrari 250 GT SWB #21 driven (and crashed) by J. Beurlys and L. Bianchi in Le Mans 1960.

    This is the car:

Now, as you can see, in the place where normally you would find the Ferrari crest it had an italian flag with a crest inside, possibly similar to the one seen on this Breadvan:

Does anyone know what flag is it?

Now, the problem is another one: If that car belonged to the "Équipe Nationale Belge", that's the Belgian National Team, then it couldn't wear the Scuderia Serenissima flags.

As far as I have found out, the car's chassis number was 1811GT and its first owner was the Belgian Jean Blaton aka "Beurlys", who drove it together with Lucien (Luziano) Bianchi, who was Belgian too, although Italian born. Maybe, as Belgians, they were Royalists and the flag were the Savoia house one in hommage to Italian monarchy, overthrown in 1946?:

Sorry I'm trying to find the answer to this question:

Why does this car, entered by Équipe Nationale Belge, wear the flag of Scuderia Serenissima?

or is it indeed another flag like Toninyapas assumed.

    Thank you for any information.

    Till.

Sorry that I insist in this question.

This picture shows 1811 GT at Le Mans 1960 entered by Equipe nationale Belge.
But it looks like it wears Scuderia Serenissima flags. Why?

Scuderia Serenissima lost its 250 GT SWB 1999 GT in practice (dns). Perhaps the Belgian team received some support from Scuderia serenissima because they had the ressources and no car?

Or is it not a Serenissima flag?
The people standing around also seem to wonder about the flags....

Thank you for your comments, Till.

The flag was a Scuderia Serenissima flag from Count Volpi. I am trying to find out the reason it ran as they were normally competitors, with Garage Francorchamps as has been pointed out. Jean Blaton is still alive and I have asked someone to ask him. The car will run with both flags next year as I am trying to get it into as original specification as when it first raced at Le Mans.

I am trying to find out who was at the wheel when it went off in the rain. I do have the original Le Mans programme with notes of the retirements in the addendum page but it does not give a reason there either.
