We've rented a house in Flagstaff for 2 weeks. Can anyone familiar with that area recommend some roads for spirited drives? Thanks.

    Sure:

    1. Drive up to Grand Canyon and back

    2. Drive to Sedona via 89A then...
    a. Go back, or
    b. Continue on 89A through Jerome and over Mingus Mountain to Prescott (this part is one of the best drives on the planet), or
    c. After either of the above, head east to I-17 to return to Flag.

Or wait a few minutes and the Travel Magazine guy here will tell you to get his travel magazine to answer your questions...

Be sure if you take 89A through Sedona to do it on a week day. Any excursions on a Saturday or Sunday will simply place you in a traffic jam the entire length of 89 through Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona.
PM me if you want details of the area.

    Early. Preferably very early.

I got to do it in my M3 just after they repaved it last year, but hadn't announced it was open yet. Woo Hoo!
