    Hi,

    First post.

    I'd appreciate suggestions Re a book or two (or ten!) that trace the history of the flat 12s in road-going Ferraris. What I'm mainly interested in is understanding the various trade-offs involved in this decision.

    I'd recommend getting a used copy of Jonathan Thompson's book "Boxer", which covered both the road and racing cars that used this type of powerplant. Note that the book was published in 1981, so it does not, obviously, include the Testarossas.
