Can anyone tell me what the proper finish is for the window mouldings on a 1973 365 BB? The wing is a semi-gloss finish so I'm thinking the window mouldings should match. Or where they flat? Any input?

On my 79 BB512 they are closer to semi-gloss than flat. And maybe between semi-gloss and gloss. But definately not flat.

I bet they annodized. But do not know for sure.

I'm going to go with satin, which is a little between semi-gloss and flat.

I wish! No, I don't have a 365BB. I still have my 308 that's very slowly coming together. Besides being retired, managing the Honda museum, working on the house, putting my shop together that I rented in Costa Mesa and working on the 308, I'm working at a friend's Ferrari/Lambo shop. That's where the 365 comes in. It's a customer's car that my friend is preparing for a few up coming concours. That's where I come in! Being anal for detail, he asked if I would help out with the stuff that takes longer then what he wants to spend on it. So I'm doing that kinda' stuff. Cleaning, polishing, paint touch ups and assembly. I work on 'his' car and he works on mine. A win win for both of us!

    Lou,

if you moonlight, I have some 308 seats that can use a good once over ;)

Along with some help installing the new carpet and trying to figure out how to reinstall the center console without tearing the handbrake......again

Matt, As they say, I'm busier then a one arm paper hanger. Now my wife 'told' me that I am going to paint the inside of our house! I swear I think I had more time when I was working full time!
As far as cleaning up your seats, check some earlier posts. If I remember there was quite a number of threads discussing the best way to do it. And I'm sure there's a 'right' way of re-installing the center console without beating it up. I've only taken mine out, not put it back in yet. Good luck...

    They are black anodized.........

If chipped or repaired the closest I've come is more satin, semi-gloss black, as suggested.

It's pretty hard to match, actually....blend and level it! LOL!

I've seen full gloss used, and it's pretty jarring!!!! Not the right look at all.....

The best satin black paint out there (in terms of matching) is Wurth's Satin Black. It seems to be the finish most used by Porsche and BMW also. Try www.griotsgarage.com

Thanks for the input. It sounds like it should not be flat. I'm going to recommend somewhere between satin and semi gloss.
