    Hi All,

I checked the M1 site [as of 4/7/09].

    http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...duct_Guide.pdf

The 0W-40 has 1100 ppm zinc and 1000 ppm phosphorus. The 15W-50 has 1300 ppm
    zinc and 1200 ppm phosphorus.

I could do 5 quarts of one and 5 quarts of the
other to knock down the viscosity to a 7.5W-45, 1200 ppm of zinc and 1100 ppm of phosphorus.

The Merak SS specifies a 10W-50 oil. What do you all think?

    Ciao,
    George

Use Castrol... or even Valvolene. Mobil 1 aint what it used to be imho. You could also try adding some Redline in a mix.

Put the 15w 50 in it and relax.

Keeping motor oil "fresh" (i.e., not letting it get too dirty or vastly degraded before changing) is far more important than what particular "flavour" of oil you put in.
