Likely after 20 years away, we will return to the NY area in the next 12 months. I do not have a spare for two of my cars (just a can of goo for one and run flats for another). Seems like potholes and flats are more of an issue in NY than where I am coming from. Wondering, do most of you carry spares? Has anyone ever had a problem getting a flatbed on one of the parkways or other spots in a reasonable amount of time? The cost of a spare kit will cover a lot of flat bed rides. Thanks for the thoughts.

I have AAA+ and anytime I had to summon a truck, I specifically tell them a flat bed as the car can't be towed *and* the flatbed MUST have web belts rather than chains. Never had an issue in the three times she's been towed. Only had one flat on the 308 & I changed my own tire rather than wait hours for a flatbed.

Got two flats when I ran over road construction material. Was on the NY State Thruway. Only NY State authorized tow trucks can go on the Thruway so Ferrari Roadside was not allowed. I was lucky got a great tow truck operator it took him almost an hour to load it on the flatbed with scraping the rear and front bumper. He used these skid shoes to prevent damage. i tipped him really well. It is not for the faint of heart.
