I took a day to go fly the Lancair 360. I've been looking at them for a while, and have done quite a bit of home work. Yes, it's tiny. Yes, It's very fast. The plane flies fantastic, very solid, and confidence inspiring. I'm giddy. Going to look at one for purchase this next weekend!

    What's your mission?

    What's your price range?

How fast was it? What was the fuel flow in cruise?

I'm buying a fun, personal transportation device. I was really impressed just how SOLID the airplane felt. I flew it for only about 1.3, but the owner said, and general concensus is about 7500', 75% power 185kts indicated, and 8.5 gph. It's simply a beautiful airplane.

    Yup, I've been following it.
If you dig a bit, you find that the lancair has a not so stellar accident rate. I attribute it lagely to inadequate pilot experience, and training.

yup, that's a very cheap price. I'm looking for either a 320, or a 360. Keep your eyes open for me!

    great looking airplane, Juan.
I believe it is a 235 MODEL, not a 235 hp. The 290 was a 235 airframe, with a 290 displacement engine. It refers to the airframe, not engine power. Much like the Lancair 360 refers to the engine displacement, not HP. The 290 is a 235 airframe, (considerably smaller, and lighter then the 320/360). The Lancair 320 came later, and after the airframes had been produced for a while, the same airframe was used to mount a O-360, for additional performance. I flew one, (a 360), and thought it was quite comfortable, but wouldn't want it to shrink any more. I am 5'10", 185lbs.
