Flightplan

The only two movies that my wife dragged me to this summer were Red Eye and Flightplan. Both were entertaining if somewhat predictable. I enjoyed Red Eye better, although Jodie Foster did her typical excellent job with what she had.

I didn't know anything about the plane going in, although it looked huge, with lots of wasted space that didn't seem realistic, especially above and below decks.
Just a few things that made me go UGH:
1. This is a brand new plane, correct? Where are the phones?
2. When the pair of fist-sized bricks of C4 explode, they only blow a hole in the front of the plane, rather than destoying the entire front half.
3. Turbulence only hit during dramatic moments.
4. When she broke the window out of the Mercedes, there just happened to be a club just laying around in the cargo hold for just such a moment.
5. If they were going to blow up the plane anyway, why not just kill the hostage.
6. Would the interior windows really fog up leading to a key dramatic point? I doubt it.

On second thought, maybe it wasn't so good.

 

You are probably right. There were several unrealistic moments as well when we went to waste two hours of our lives watching Dukes of Hazzard .
