Although most of you are not in Florida, where by the way it was 80 today, we hope you will be with us in spirit and possibly a toy this Saturday.

We are having our first annual Toys For Tots exotic car Rally this Saturday, Dec 10. Both of our wonderful Ferrari dealerships (yes we have two) are sponsors, along with FCA and Scuderia South Florida. So far we have over 50 cars registered, $75 in toys required, mostly Ferraris. We only expected 15-20. We are driving from The Collection Ferrari in beautiful Coral Gables near Miami, up I-95 through Ft Lauderdale to Shelton Ferrari, Boca Raton, and 80 miles later end in Palm Beach at the FCA holiday luncheon. The Florida Highway Patrol is providing the escort all the way.

So please consider sending us a toy for T4T's, cash, check, or mone order also welcome. Better yet, pack your bags, and drive your Fcar to Florida and join us.

PM for an address for your donations.

Carbon, thank you for the gift. I will make sure the kid that receives gets a matching tattoo. Even if I have to use a Sharpie.

Yes you are right. It would help if I were using this year's caledar.

The Rally is Saturday, Dec 9th. The first year response is overwhelming. So far it looks like 50+ vehicles, at least 60% are Ferraris. Lambos, NSX's, Porsches, etc, make up the rest of the grid.

Nearly 70 cars, mostly Ferraris, made the 80 mile drive from Coral Gables to Palm Beach. We brought in thousands of dollars, and hundreds of toys for Toys For Tots and the Florida Highway Patrol charities. Two Daytonas, a Boxer, an F40, Stradales, 360's, 430's, 575's, every model Ferrari was represented. Clubs represented included the FCA, Scuderia South Florida and EC.

The experience of having five state troopers block an entire Interstate so you can change lanes will never be forgotten.

    So here is the challenge:

Either the rest of you Ferrari owners start your own holiday charity rallies in 2007, or you ship your cars to south Florida next December and join ours. If you don't, you might as well be driving a 911 and call yourselves wooses.

Congratulations on a very successful toy drive and a terrific sounding run for all participants. You certainly will bring cheer to many not-so-fortunate children this Christmas.

Thanks ND & Carol. Let's get this started nationally. Poverty and need is not something that occurs only during the December holidays. It festers all year. Perhaps for those of you in the north, an Easter Bunny Rally, etc, when the weather gets better. We can arrange for discounts thru Exotic Car Transport for you to ship your cars to Florida for the 2007 event.

I received a note from the NSX club members that participated, stating they were surprised how friendly and nice "the Ferrari people" were, and great of a time they had. I do not remember too much from yesterday, its a blurr, but the photos are shocking me into believing we really pulled this off in less than four weeks. Can you imagine what we can do with planning?

Check out the official T4T photo thread in the Florida section, more photos will be posted over the next few days.

Just remember one thing: the children. A simple act of kindness a child receives today, my mean success for the rest of their lives.

You're a good man, Ron. It's the kids who count. That's why I enjoy debating you; even when we disagree (which is a lot!), I know that I'm disagreeing with someone who likewise cares about kids.

Ageed. I've two daughters of my own, and if I could, I would love another, but then I would have to have another relationship, after two divorces, I am too tired for another menopause experience.

You know of course our political differences have nothing to do with life. When one of us is in need, we must all respond to help. We are all so lucky to be able to be on FChat. There are so many humans on the earth that are lucky just to be alive the next day. (And its all GWB's Fault HAHAHAHAHHA!)
