hello north carolina f-chatters -- this is my first post on f-chat, so allow me to introduce myself. my name is kelly and i have been a very happy f-car owner for about six months now (98 355 gtb with f/1). anyway, i have plenty of time before my next engine out service, but i was wondering about a good place for fluid and filter changes in the greensboro area. i would prefer not to have it done at foreign cars -- any other options? any suggestions, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. also, i would like to say thank you to ferrarichat.com and all of it's participants, the wealth of knowledge it provides have been ever so useful. i can't begin to tell you the pitfalls it helped me avoid in pre-purchase, as well as learning about f-cars in general -- for this i am eternally greatful. cheers, kelly

    WELCOME!!!

Oil change? DIY. It's easy, cheap, and fun. I'm doing mine today, thanks to a fellow Fchatter's garage lift here is GSO! Assuming I don't accidentally drain the transmission (wink wink), the whole deal will only cost about $50.

Make sure to consider joining the FCA. We have lots of great local events planned for this season.

And besides Daniel knows where you can get the parts you need.

thanks for the welcome daniel, however, i don't think "diy" is an option for me. not that i think i'm above changing my own oil, it's just if i were to do it "failure would not be left to chance". i have enough problems just adding oil between changes -- i know, i know, very pathetic. anyways, back to the original question, if anywone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. cheers, kelly

Heck -- as long as you don't really care about my unorthodox methods or occasional outbursts of profanity, I'll do it for $50. :)

I'm not sure who'd do "just an oil change", but try SportAuto or Foreign Cars Italia. If you can batch up several to-do items, you'll feel like it's a better deal.

I'll take you up on the $50 deal. I love FCI to death, but I am doing so many track events that the $300 they charge for oil and brake fluid on my Maserati is getting me very very close to DIY. I just don't want to DIY for the first time by myself. Are you up for instruction? At least you will know where to get the parts from?

Whoa... I can hear the boys at SportAuto laughing (or crying) right now!!

I'd be happy to give it a shot with your 360, but at this point I'm only moderately comfortable doing it on a 348. I'm sure it's not very difficult, and I'd be more than happy to do some research and find out. Only because of a slight problem this weekend (which was fixed within 45 minutes), am I a little nervous.

(rifledriver, Ferrarioldman, ferrarifixer, Tbakowsky, and others are probably rolling their eyes...)

p.s. if you bought the car from FCI, why not sincerely ask them to "comp" you an oil change, if you pay for all the parts and fluids? I'm sure they want your ongoing service dollars.
