Where is the fill port for the convertible top's fluid resevoir?

What fluid is to be used?

Do not see either in the owner's manual.

Also cannot locate the battery recharging unit in the engine compartment.

    Thank you,

    Dennis

Before you get too beat up here, there is a search function in the upper left corner of the page, and that will direct you to all the relevant threads.

I just did it, and here is how to add fluid for the top.

You can obtain the fluid from any Mercedes dealer, which is what Ferrari uses. I use Pentosin CHF 11S, which is a similar, but synthetic fluid, works fine....got it at the local Lamborghini/Range Rover/Bentley/Rolls dealership. Some folks even use inexpensive $3 a bottle hydraulic jack oil, with no bad effects...not sure if I would risk it myself...

The battery charging connection is under the right engine compartment side panel. You have to remove three metric Allen headed bolts to access it.

BTW, easiest way to keep the battery charged and topped up is to purchase a battery tender that includes a cigarette lighter adapter. The 355 cigarette lighter jack is always on, so you can plug in through it, even with the ignition off. It is also safe to close the door on the cord, as the thick door seals will safely collapse around the cord and not pinch it.

    This is a good one:
http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+maintenance/battery+care/battery+manager+iv.do It comes with several different connection methods, including a cigarette lighter adapter.

But you can find inexpensive ones at NAPA stores or WalMart too, often for less than $30. Some may not come with the cigarette lighter adapter, but you can make one up by splicing the plug onto one of these from Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3802148&y=7&x=8&retainProdsInSession=1

Will do the cigarette charger from now on.

I beleive this is my year for a new battery. I put the current one in there 6 years ago.
