I pulled the drivers side axle tonight to replace the CV boots, and found a small amount of trans fluid behind the axle where it meets the trans, (maybe an ounce). Is this normal? I think there must be a radial seal leaking to allow the fluid to accumulate. There was no leakage evident until I removed the axle so it was all contained between the end of the inner CV cap and the area were the axle bolts to the trans. Anyone with experience here?

Also, it was listed that the Porsche 930 CV boots were a cross reference part match for the 355, but the boots on my '99 and the 930 are definately different and I will not be using the Porsche ones. Both made by Lobro, but different part numbers and different shape on the ends. The Porsche ones will not seal properly and will leak over time. They could probably be half assed, but not going on my car. FYI
