I am doing the rear main and clutch on my '83 308 QV.

I pulled the flywheel off without thinking to mark it. How do you line it back up?

I see three sensors around the outside of the bell housing but I don't see any magnets or anything on the flywheel itself.

The hole pattern is asymmetrical. It cannot go on the wrong way.

One of my little timing pins on the flywheel just broke off, completely paralyzing my car during a rally. Has anyone heard of this happening before? My mechanic thinks maybe a stone or something got into the bell housing and caused it, but no stone was found. Any thoughts?

Interesting, as I've got a QV here under the knive...Evidently a flywheel bolt head broke, due to being over-tightened. It "scattered" around in the clutch area. One flywheel timing pin bent, the other pretty banged up. Pull the timing pins and have new ones machined. Not a very big deal...

    Hey Jay,
I was wondering what happened. Glad it wasn't something catastrophic. I enjoyed meeting you and your wife at the rally.

During the last 10 minutes of the drive our Mondial started hesitating under full power. I am hoping if I ignore it, the problem will go away. I have actually fixed more than a few issues by doing nothing. :)
