    Hi,

Over the past few months, my fob has not been working quite right, and I have to press a few times before the alarm can be dis-armed. I have changed the fob battery and the red light on the fob lights up bright and strong, so it can't be a fob battery problem I suppose.

The situation gets worse and worse until recently it does not work at all. Unable to disable the alarm, I cannot drive the car.

I have two fobs (one being a duplicate of the original one), and both do not work. So I have a feeling that there is something wrong with the car, not the fobs (as both fobs can't go bad at the same time).

It gradually transforms from an intermittent problem to completely not working at all, so I guess it is not fuses (I suppose a broken fuse means it would not work at all, rather than giving me the initial intermittent problem).

    Any idea please?

    Thanks in advance.

    John

I am having a similar problem. I left town and wanted to put the top up after leaving it down for five days. Battery died and I connected the trickle charger. while doing this I was pushing the button on the fob on and off and opened the door. Alarm started and no matter what I do, the alarm would not stop. I pushed both the remotes(I do not have the master red fob) I had to have the battery drain out to have the alarm stop. Alarm goes off when I connect the trickle charger. I am stumped. I don't know what to do. I don't have a PIN code either to reset. Do I need to have it towed to a dealer?

You know everytime mine has acted up it was the FOB battery. I say try another brand and make sure your terminals are clean a go ahead and give the keeper a little tweak so it pinches harder too. I use DeOxit on my fob terminals too. Good luck!

1: clean the fob not acts as above
2: does the led flash on the left of the steering heel when you press the fob
3: any work one recently on it and how good are you honestly at electrical diagnosis in cars? Alarm ecu is behind drivers seat under panel.

Did you put a new car battery in yet?
