The FOC has 3 to 4 openings for the upcoming go kart race event on October 23rd.

PM me if you want to attend. Cost is variable depending on how many people race but typically ranges from $60 to $70 for three qualifying races and one final race.

Anybody can participate in this event, you don't have to be a FOC member.

We'll also have some nice trophies for the top 3 finishers.

Do you think you'll do another one in the Spring?

Yes, so far in the past few years, I think we managed to have a spring and fall event. Since it is an FOC event, the FOC members get first chance to sign up. If we have room for more folks to join us, we open it up to non-members.

The good part about racing outside of FOC is, I can beat most of the other drivers.:D There were 2 that were a problem, but they were so aggressive they got into trouble quickly. One did a T-bone on another and just kept driving. Needless to say he went to the penality box.

If you want to meet up to race a few, I might be game for that. I have a license now;)

I'm glad to see that you're taking your 2010 gokart trophy as motivation for more to come.

My goal is to place in the top 3. I may need to loosen your wheel bolt to do that, but I am motivated.:D:D

The annual license costs $25 and reduces the cost by $15 on the third race. So, the first two races are normal cost $25 and the third is $10. I thought I would try it this year to see if some additional practice would actually help.

John is still working out the details. Once we have them, you can certainly join us in the gokart race.

It will be once again our traditional race with 3 qualifying races before. Cost around $ 70 (unless they changed the pricing, unlikely) and be on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in March.

Valid drivers license and a credit card:)

If you have your own helmet and/or suit then bring them. However they provide everything if you don't have it.

I'm never in the Chi Region section of the site, but I was looking at the Chicago Auto Show pics and saw this thread. I did a series of races for my bachelor party last year and had a blast. It is well worth the price of admission.
