Folks, Gerry328 is hosting the FOC Tech Session on May 18th at his Car-X facility in Downers Grove, IL (212 Ogden Ave.) starting around 10am. All are welcome to come out and join in. FOC members have access to the lifts, unfortunately non-members do not. It is a good time to talk cars, look under a few, do oil changes and other light maintenance. We may even order in pizza. Hope to see all you enthusiasts there! (If there is rain, then it will be cancelled and reschedule.)
I printed out the directions for doing 308 brakes. So, if Haley can get her car out here, we can complete that brake job.
Sounds great. My plan is for an oil change. If time permits also replace the rubber brake hoses and flush the brake fluid.
I have a pesky tick in the right front rotor. So, I'll be taking it off and roughing up the rotor to clean it off and reset the pads.
A few pics from today. As always great fun and got some maintenance accomplished! Dave and Robert stopped by in their new car, very cool. Great pics Gerry. Here are a few of mine. We got lots accomplished. Oil change, front brake pads on the 308, "sanded" my front right rotor to rough it up to reseat the pads (had an annoying 'tick' from that rotor and started the rear brake pads on the 308. But the cap to the inside brake adjustment screw was stuck on so tight it stripped using a 4mm hex wrench. So, it will need more persuasion to remove. All this follow with great pizza. This was a perfect day. Thanks again for hosting! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They stopped solidly, though I can't say if they stop better since I have never stomped them as hard before. Will see if it cuts down on brake dust ... I'm optimistic though
