Removing the dash? I wanted to do that for years but tried it only once and realized that an engine change would be easier. Good luck on that one...

The top three so fare are:

    1) Dave 2,873
    2) Carla 2,359
    3) Tod 1,633

What happened to all the other folks who submitted tachometer readings at the beginning of the year?

Norbert, Bo, drGek, Chelle, the twins and Mike Z?

I'm still betting that Norbert will come out on top.

Don't bet on anyone yet. UPS will deliver my new tires to Continental tomorrow. I'll then pick the car up, and photograph the tach. Will be about 6K miles for 7 months of ownership.

Man, I wish we had this contest when I bought the 308 4 years ago. I think I put 14,000 miles on the first year! This year on the TR I have something like 3K miles.

When I drove to Pebble Beach in 2004, I still didn't drive that many more miles for that year. Just don't have the time to go any place. Now that I have a Vette too, I drive it for a lot of the trips I would have driven in the 308. I am having mail sending problems with my primary computer. I have just gotten my old backup computer up and running. Drove the Ferrari for the last time this year yesterday.

Thanks, Andreas for the support, but I didn't drive with the two 599s on the Panamerican 20,000 this year.

Didn't you drive alongside Dave all the way to Washington DC this year? I know Dave didn't do too much else driving with the boxer so you should be somewhere up there with the top three.

Hope all is going well. Still waiting for the car; should get it back from Continental tomorrow.

(I always remember what Queen Victoria said.)

Yes I drove with Dave to Virginia, and I also drove to Manhattan one day too while I was on that trip.

(Actually, I drive in "dog miles" so it is more like 23,000 miles of driving this year, but I know the rules - no "dog miles".)

Here's the odometer reading. However, as I let my membership to FOC lapse, I may not be eligible for the "prize." This was 7 months worth of ownership.

Since I wasn't able to attend the Christmas party this year, I am now a bit confused. Was Drgek disqualified for not having his membership up to date? Did one also have to be present at the party to be considered for the award?

I was also a tad unclear on the concept, but Andreas' original post did specify it was for a club member, so that would leave me out at this point. FOC's motto is "We Drive." I guess I just drive more :)

    Thank you for your post.

Yes, you do drive a lot. You are a lucky Ferrari owner indeed!
Do you have an F1 transmission for ease of gear selection?

You may have answered one of my questions.

I specced out the F1 after much consideration, and a chance to drive a CS. They have evolved quite a bit over the years. I've also specced out an F1 in a 599.

I'd love to see how the F1 feels in a newer model Ferrari. Only used it in a 360, 355, and GranSport. From what I hear the 599's shifts are nearly flawless.

It was rather rough in the F430 I drove. Maybe I should have taken it out of race mode. :)

But it did away with my infatuation for F1 shifters. I'm about as far away from a purist as you can be, but after that experience I'll stick to a regular shifter.
