My wife got me the 2 disc "Tribute To Senna" DVD for Christmas.

The second disc is redone video of "Racing is in my Blood" which many of you may have in the old VHS form.

The first disc has recently done interviews with many past F1 stars (Berger, D. Hill, Prost,) and other F1 notables (Jo Ramirez, Murray Walker, Frank Williams, etc.) and some others (his sister, personal pilot, trainer, etc.).

It's a great video in part because Prost's comments take up about 1/3rd the interview.

There is also some never before seen footage of Senna's first test in the 1983 Williams at Donnington where he went a full second faster than 82 world champion Rosberg had every managed. In addition it shows footage of his other two tests that year with McLaren and Tolman.

Also some footage of Ayrton driving Suzuka in the NSX (in car video).

It was very well made video and much better and much more professional than the other stuff (Racing is in my Blood OR A Star Named Senna).

If you are a Senna fan get this video.

What struck me most was Professor Sid Watkin's commentary when asked what his favorite memory of Senna was, he retold the story of how he was staying with Senna in Brazil and had to call his wife in Scotland. The power went out so he and Senna walked the streets of San Palo for a few blocks until they found a pay phone. While Watkins spoke with his wife Senna stood on the street corner in the pitch dark under a lamp post. Some kids recognized him and within seconds there were 30 or 40 kids standing there wanting his autographs (which he signed). Watkins said it was a cherished memory to remember Senna standing under the light all lit up surrounded by small children.

10 Years on and I still get choked up seeing footage of Imola 94' and recounting that day.

    I still miss him !

Thanks for the tip Jon! How I would have loved to see Senna and MS battle it out in competitive cars. :(

Bought mine off of ebay. While it stated it was shipped from the US, it was actually sent via postal mail from Brasil. To me, that's just an extra bonus. The two DVDs are great, but the first one will crap out about 8/10ths of the way through the movie. Then again, I am playing it through a PS2 and not a typical DVD player.

These videos are just... just... fantastic! I cannot express how much you need to see these, even if you are just curious about the Senna fanaticism or you are a true Senna fan.

One thing it didn't go into is how fast Senna was on his testing with Frank Williams. They briefly stated that he had gone faster in the car than they (Williams) had been on that track.

Other thoughts/rumors (?) from books I've read in the past about that particular day:
    - Senna came within a few tenths of the lap record
    - Senna adapted quickly to random changes that the engineers made, but just like Prost said, he wasn't a great test driver; he just adapted very quickly.

I had bought the DVD "Martin Brundle: Supercars" from England. When it arrived, I could not play it in my DVD player, only on my computer. Is this Senna DVD Euro or North American format?

A bit off topic, but IMHO the best F1 photographer is Schlegelmilch. His recent book about Ferrari F1 from all decades has some of the best photography I've ever seen in F1. Aside from that it is incredibly informative and a must in every Tifosi's collection.

BTW welcome to the board, Ferri!
