Well, Hartford is really not that close to Lime Rock, so I am not sure I understand. I can recommend the White Hart Inn in Salsibury, CT, which is very near Lime Rock.

    hey josh,

    sorry for the confusion,

they do not want to drive too far from boston (because i was suppose to go up there)
i do not want to drive to far from lime rock.

so the closet city with a good selection of restaurants in and surrounding it
    is hartford.

Ah, I see. Sorry, I don't know of anything in Hartford. I am sure there is a Denny's or something though.

Here are a few options that should put Denny's to shame...have fun.

    MAX DOWNTOWN
    Hartford
185 Asylum St. (bet. Ann & Trumbull Sts.) Hartford, CT, 06103 (860) 522-2530

Still “the toast of the town” after eight years, this “cult status” Hartford New American “steak-and-chop house” “maintains the energy and buzz of a yearling”, with “the best martinis in town” and a menu to “satisfy the carnivore and stun even the most jaded bon vivant”; “hallmark attention to detail” and a prime location across from the Civic Center make it the “leader of the pack” for “power lunching”, “pre- or post-show dining” or the “place to go when you want to treat yourself or others.”

    MORTON'S, THE STEAKHOUSE
30 State House Sq. (Asylum St.) Hartford, CT, 06103 (860) 724-0044

“It’s easy to dine, drink and seal a deal” at these Hartford and Stamford branches of the “King of the Cow” chain “with the recipe for success” that makes critics “want to throw money on the table” for a “manly meal” of “first-class steaks” and Godiva chocolate cake; though the waiter’s “hokey” “showbiz” “primer” presentation of various cuts is “like cramming for a test”, “corporate” types are comforted by the fact that they’re “consistent”, so “you know what you’re getting when you come here.”

    Pastis French American Bistro
201 Ann St. (bet. Allyn & Asylum Sts.) Hartford, CT, 06103 (860) 278-8852

“You’ll think you’re on the Boulevard Saint-Germain” sigh appreciative amis of this “casual yet chic” Downtown Hartford “slice of a Left Bank” bistro, where the “zinc bar adds European flair”; “benchmark” steak frites and “wonderful” bouillabaisse convince many that “French food is alive and well” in these parts, and it all turns into even more of an “authentic” experience when you “sit outside at one of the cafe tables on a warm spring or summer day.”

    PEPPERCORN'S GRILL
357 Main St. (bet. Buckingham St. & Capital Ave.) Hartford, CT, 06106 (860) 547-1714

The “palate-pleasing Italian dishes” – including “terrific osso buco” and “top tiramisu” – flame the ardor of Hartford fans who find this spot “great for a date or a pre/post Bushnell Theater” visit; “you’ll want to spend more than you budget” on the “imaginative dishes” at this “very chic place”, though a few peppery patrons are put off by the “sub-standard location” and service that can “seem snobbish”; N.B. although normally closed on Sundays, it opens for dinner when the Theater has scheduled shows.

My sister goes to school in Hartford. West Hartford rocks compared to Hartford. Rocks, I tell you!
