I submitted a listing for my 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena to classifieds (JustRed) on May 17th, but it still says ‘pending approval’. I’m Silver Subscribed and the listing complies with all of the requirements as far as I am aware. Is this a normal wait time or am I doing something incorrectly?

    Thanks,
    Adam

I’ve emailed the JustRed support team twice- once again this morning; but have yet to receive a response. If anyone knows if the site is undergoing some changes in management/ ownership or something like that, please let me (and the others who doubtless have the same issue) know. Also, if this should be posted elsewhere, please advise. I’m not very adept or aware of the nuances of chat board etiquette anymore.

I love those wheels. Where did you get them?

That is a question I’ve been trying to answer for a long time. I am the second owner of the car. I bought it from the president of Monster Cable (SFO) in 2005. Noel had all of the maintenance documentation and specifics on everything else I wanted to know; but nothing regarding the wheels. I’ve had them off several times to clean, looking for a maker’s mark of some/ any kind, and unless they are really good at hiding it, there does not appear to be one. My guess would be some boutique shop in San Francisco from the late 1990s; but I don’t know for sure. If anyone that sees this happens to know- or has developed a form of Google Lens that can tell me, that’d be great. They are awesome wheels and I’ve always liked how they looked. They can be a pain in the ass to clean; but that is not a huge concern.
Noel used this car as his company’s show car for a few months and then it was his daily driver until he replaced it with the 430; which is when I bought it.
Now, if you wanted to talk about the bespoke stereo? I have a lot more information about that. It isn’t something that is ‘value added’ at this point, as it is 20+ year old tech; but it is high quality.

It really would all be much easier if I could just get the *&$#** listing up. 29,100 miles if anyone wants to know. Major service done <500 miles ago, including new clutch. Full maintenance history, etc.

Those wheels look similar to a set of Cargraphic Racing wheels I almost bought for my 997 a long time ago. I remember them having very blocky spokes like that but ended up going with HREs instead.

Those look like ESR wheels. I like them a lot myself. Not sure if this is the exact wheel, but looks close. I really like the polished lip Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yeah, the pattern is similar- and I’ve seen those wheels before (love ‘em); but mine don’t have the 2-layer ‘spokes’ and the pattern is slightly different. Nice wheels, though.

But they could be BBS also, not sure all the versions BBS made over the years.

I would have thought any BBS wheels would have at least had a manufacturer’s marking of some kind. That’s a huge company; or, it was. I couldn’t find anything to cross-reference when I took these off. They are, I think, the only things on the car that I can’t properly identify.

edit: going through the ESR catalogue, I’d have to guess it might be one of their older/ discontinued models. The design elements are very similar, indeed.

Put it on Bringatrailer. They return emails.

Why would you continue to work with a company to market your car when you just experienced horrible customer service?

All BBS wheels will have stampings, usually on the front of the wheel face. My LMs have it around the lug area.

ESR wheels are usually just copies and I am not sure they were even around when this car was built.

Well, the idea was because they were associated with Ferrari Chat that it would be a good place to bring it to market before just throwing it up on eBay, BaT, et. al.; but ‘shrug’. I haven’t had to sell a vehicle in over a decade, so my social calibration for what is acceptable might be a bit off. Also, spent the few bucks to ‘Silver Subscribe’ to get access to the classifieds, so there’s that, which is also annoying.

I used BAT and was very unhappy with the results. The tire kickers on the site are very unpleasant and so much negativity. Many other folks also have suggested to stay away from BAT for similar reasons. However, the staff at BAT are phenomenal. They treated me very nicely and were easy to work with. So mixed feelings....

Both the problem and the virtue of BAT is that the most excellent cars get impossible to reproduce results. I think it was yesterday that a 6k mile gated resale red modena went for $203,360. That's a lot.

If your car isn't perfect and a specimen for tire kickers to drool on, then the auction is less than spectacular. So if your car has any warts, any at all, the spectator posters will rip the car apart and say all sort of ridiculous stuff, like a belt service is $15k or other useless things. So if you want to be a success on BAT, get your car in order first. Do the belt service. Buy new tires. Get everything working perfectly and detail the heck out of it. When there's nothing to scoff at, then magic happens.

@Adam Brandon - Why are you waiting to post it on the Just Red thing? There's plenty of traction here and if you're silver, you can post a want ad on this forum. Some have had great results.

-didn’t know that. I kept getting directed to the JustRed site, as I assumed that they (FChat) partnered with them for that reason- aka to remove the want-adverts and classifieds. Will do. Thanks.

Okay, so I was told that this is acceptable to post. If it is not, please just remove or let me know. I’ve been waiting for the listing to post on their partner site ‘JustRed’, but it has been pending approval for over two weeks. Apparently I’m not the only one having this issue. So…

Clean 2-owner 360 Modena F1. 29,100 miles. Major service less than 750 miles ago; including new clutch, flywheel, RMS, fluids, etc. Belts and new motor mounts at last service (~2,000 miles ago.) Car has rare sun roof (1 of 34, I was told) and is in excellent condition. I bought it from the owner of Monster Cable back in 2005, when he was upgrading to the then new 430. This was a show car and then his daily driver for ~3 years. The bespoke stereo is audiophile-quality; but dated. I have put new JL Audio speakers in and the stereo sounds great; but I realize it is not a 'value added' feature. You can always remove it if you so choose. I do not have the factory stereo, as it was not with the vehicle when I bought it. It has excellent service history, from Ferrari of SFO, to Alfa of Tacoma, and now with Veloce Motorsports, who did the last service ($11,000+). Car runs very well, as expected. I just put a new battery in last week and it is always on a tender (master switch off) when not being driven for over a week. Factory indoor cover & toolkit in leather case. Both red and black fobs + CS/Enzo Key.

Oh, also, I've painstakingly removed the SoftTouch that turns into sticky goo on all Ferraris that have it. Denatured alcohol was used and it has been removed from everywhere except the steering column, as that isn't a place that is touched.

In 2003, Ferrari of San Francisco upgraded the TCU. It also has the factory optioned Scuderia logos (as pictured.)

It has been a while since I've sold a Ferrari- the last one was my 512 TR over a decade ago, so I apologize if something that is supposed to be listed is not. Please just reply to this thread and I'll answer any questions that I can. No accidents or 'stories', etc.

I am located in Ocean Shores, WA. Serious inquires only. Private parties only, please. It is a 150 mile drive to the closest place for a PPI, so I only want to have to do that once.

    $87,000 VIN: ZFFYR51A7X0119477

    Best,

We apologize, unfortunately JustRed is managed by Motorsport and we have no control here at FerrariChat getting listings approved or the quality of the data. I have reached out to them again with a link to this thread as an example of the problems. This has been pretty common all year. I will keep you updated.

Our recommendation at FerrariChat for now is to just have your listing on the FerrariChat classifieds. Thanks.

I just talked to the JustRed manager. He's going to address the two support issues.

    1) Getting ads approved.

    2) Responding to email support requests.

@rob lay Thank you. Much appreciated.

@amenasce Thank you. I hope for a smooth transaction and that it can find someone that will enjoy it as much as I have these last ~16 years.

That’s another reason I wanted it on here first, too- to get a more accurate opinion on pricing. I’ve been given ranges from 80,000-100,000 and though I now wish it was a gated manual, it isn’t. It also isn’t a concourse car. I’ve owned/ shown one before, and this is in excellent shape, no question; but it was a daily driver for its first owner and I’ve put ~12k on it. It isn’t perfect. It does have the 3M PPF on the front bumper, mirrors, and rockers- don’t think I mentioned that. Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the insight and help/ support. Please feel free to ask me anything about it.

    Here are some more photos.

Not a dumb question at all. I highly doubt there are any other Ferrari 360s with it. It is part of Sony’s mobile audiophile XDP-series (Mobile ES) control system. It is a rotary controller for the head unit. It controls the volume, track selection, attenuation, mode, & source. The pre-amplifier is the XDP-4000x. Again, this is all 20+ year old tech now; but the sound quality is still excellent. The whole system is paired to 6 DynAudio speakers and a JL Audio 8W6 enclosed under the steering wheel.
