Thanks, I'm am still learning the exact details of the OTO VS a normal 612, but I believe the basics are that you were able to completely customize the car from the factory, with the exception of the included electrochromic panoramic roof and Superfast F1 transmission. I did find this write up online from when Ferrari initiated the One To One program in 2008. "New York, March 18th 2008 Ferrari officially premieres today in North America the 2008 612 Scaglietti, the model used to inaugurate the new One-to-One Personalization Program of the Company. Ferrari intends to allow every client to fully personalise this flagship model, courtesy of a wide array of new content as well as the options available through the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Programme. In fact, a special dedicated "atelier" area has been set up at the factory, where clients can put together their own bespoke 612 Scaglietti accessory by accessory, detail by detail. In exactly the same way as they would at an haute couture fashion house, owners can choose details and materials they want for their car in consultation with the Ferrari experts who will actually build it to their exact specifications and tastes. Clients will be assisted in making their selections by dedicated Programme consultants who can help them at every stage of defining their car's specification. All of these unique new 612 Scagliettis will be built in a dedicated assembly area at the Maranello factory. The 612 Scagliettis being used to launch the One-to-One Programme incorporate a series of technical evolutions that reflect the Ferrari philosophy of constantly introducing innovations in each model. Most notably, the V12 flagship now boasts an electrochromic panoramic roof which covers the entire top of the cabin. The electrochromic glass can be changed at the touch of a button to adjust the levels of sunlight allowed into the cabin. This solution was developed in close collaboration with Saint Gobain, a partner with whom Ferrari has most recently developed a similar highly innovative solution for the Superamerica. In addition to its electrochromic roof, the 612 Scaglietti also sports the aptly named SuperFast gearbox which delivers an exceptional gear-shifting time of 100 milliseconds and a reduced inertia clutch to enhance the engine's responsiveness still further. The iconic Ferrari manettino, now featured on the entire range, has also been added to the steering wheel."
Also, while we are having the major done, they notified us that the clutch is at 30% remaining, so we are having a new clutch put in along with the major.
Michael- Hard to believe someone wore out that dual plate clutch. Even the 599 drivers have had a hard time doing that. You might want to double-check before having the work done. Not sure if wear can be checked visually like it can on the single plate 612 clutches.
Thanks for the Info. We had the clutch checked by a Ferrari Computer, I believe it was the SD2, but not sure. It wasn't that bad, it was like 32% remaining. Car drove great. But from our experience here, when people are spending $150k, they don't want to be told the clutch has 30% remaining. We already have a couple of people interested in this car, so we figure it will be a much easier sale with a New Clutch. So we are just going ahead with it. I see a lot of your posts, and appreciate your wealth of Ferrari knowledge.
Are you sure it was not, that it had 30% ware? I spoke to the chef mechanic at a Ferrari dealership on Sunday and he said he had only ever replaced one clutch on a high mile 599 and that was because of judder and it was not worn out. So I am thinking 80-100,000 miles, not unless it has been tracked. Mine had 15% wear at 12,000 miles.
I will definitely take Taz and your advice and double check that it is remaining and not wear. This was directly from Ferrari of San Diego, but you never know. Thanks guys!
Service and clutch done. Computer was right after all. Oh well, our cost is your gain. New clutch for the next owner
That's some machine.... With OTO 'the sky's the limit" basically.....that's a very tastefully appointed car! I'll offer three beat up 308GTBs, and a pile of spare parts, as trade...LOL!
Ok guys, i have no idea why this car hasn't sold. New FCHAT No Haggle Price of $145K Best Deal on a 612 OTO anywhere!
Probably. Not that it would make any real sense. The nice thing about having a 2005 is I could put 30,000 miles on mine at this point and the glass floor would keep my car's value $5-10k below the next example. When you're in the middle of the pack, the cost of mileage is more severe.
