I think a lot fewer 348's were stashed away than 328's. Remember 328's were finishing their run when Enzo passed. By the 348 days the mania had subsided. I would say a time capsule 348 is much rarer.

Wow this will be very interesting. An almost one of a kind impossible to find in this condition and mileage car but one that many consider to be, well I won't say it... I would imagine a serious collector who doesn't have one would pay big money to squeeze this between his perfect 328 and 355. I can't wait to see where this goes. 75 miles a year, that's crazy. Good luck.

I'm watching too. I almost chimed in to try and stop the madness, but I know it wont matter. Im a lawyer too (so I love to argue for the sake of it...especially becuase I'm always right hahahaha).

I love to watch the auctions but i never speak on anything I know nothing about. Unfortunately, many have no such reticence. I'm rooting for you. I love the 348 (I am considering buying one myself). I recently saw a car go for more than they were listed for at the dealer (a carbed 308 GTB) and i was kicking myself cause i could have had it for 10k less than the winning bidder but I low balled the dealer since the same car was on BaT 5 months earlier and was bid to 15k less than the later auction. It could be a matter of who sees the car when its listed. That said, Im sure you have a reserve so no harm. GLWA!

It didn't bring the $125K that I was expecting, but congrats on the sale! At least you picked up the number that you were originally asking. Oh, and congrats to the buyer. Cool car!

My screen still says $92 and waiting for last minute bidders. Holy crap that’s a lot for a 348.

I’m curious - did you set a reserve on it?

I set it at 99. I think it would’ve gone for more but for some guy posting that the reserve had been hit based upon what I had said in this ad back in November. All in all an interesting and not altogether pleasant experience and much more hassle than I’d hoped for. I would’ve much preferred to sell the car months ago for 100,000 to one of you guys. The car is leaving the country unfortunately. BAT told me they got their money, I’ll let you know if and when I get mine.

At least it's sold. There's no telling how long it would have continued to sit here. Interestingly, there didn't seem to be a great depth of knowledge displayed in the comments during the course of the auction like you often see on other marques and models. I was really surprised by that and expected to learn more about the 348s in the process. A majority of the comments were really annoying. Good job keeping your cool. ;) Again, congrats on the sale.

Congrats! “Leaving the country” scares me. What assurance does BAT provide?

It won’t make any difference to them or myself because I will be paid long before the car leaves my garage. With that said I’d prefer that the car go to someone’s private collection or a museum here in the United States.

I'll be curious to know how the financial transaction will work with an overseas buyer if you're willing to share once it's done.

If you want to have a going away party, I'm sure a few of us locals would be happy to attend. :)

I do them all the time. All buyers are foreign buyers in a way.

Wire the money. Once received then you can release the car. Same rules for everyone.

You can't buy a hat or house without paying for it first. Cars are no different.

What was unpleasant? U did sell the car for top dollar and for more than anyone seemed to have offer on fchat. Selling cars is not often a pleasant business; I sold a couple Ferrari’s and most of the time f car buyers are a pain: between low balling, joy rider... Yes bat has the peanut gallery like they like to call it but 102k is a good solid number!
